Overcoming Anxiety and Fear

When facing times of stress and fear, the promises found in Scripture can provide significant support. Here are some wonderful Bible verses that offer comfort and reassurance to help with anxiety and fear:

Trust in God

  1. Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.”

  1. Psalm 56:3-4

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in You. In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”

God’s Presence

  1. Isaiah 41:10

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

  1. Joshua 1:9

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Peace and Comfort

  1. Philippians 4:6-7

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

  1. John 14:27

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

God’s Care

  1. 1 Peter 5:7

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”

  1. Matthew 6:34:

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Strength and Support

  1. Psalm 34:4

“I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.”

  1. 2 Timothy 1:7

“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us a spirit of fear, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”

God’s Protection

11. Psalm 91:1-2

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'”

12. Romans 8:38-39

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Encouragement

13. Isaiah 26:3

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.”

14. Psalm 46:1

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
