Guard Your Heart: Lessons on Marriage from Malachi

Marriage is more than a social contract; it is a sacred covenant designed by God. In Malachi 2:15-16, we find profound wisdom about the divine purpose of marriage, the importance of faithfulness, and God’s heart for relationships:

Didn’t the Lord make you one with your wife? In body and spirit, you are His. And what does He want? Godly children from your union. So guard your heart; remain loyal to the wife of your youth. “For I hate divorce!” says the Lord, the God of Israel. “To divorce your wife is to overwhelm her with cruelty,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “So guard your heart; do not be unfaithful to your wife.” Continue reading

Rekindling My First Love for God

As this year comes to a close, I want to write a note of gratitude to the Lord. Last December, I was reading a passage in the book of Revelation:

“But I have this complaint against you. You don’t love Me or each other as you did at first!” (Revelation 2:4, NLT)

As I reflected on these words, God gently prodded my heart and told me that I had lost my first love for Him.

Looking back, I realized this was true. The passion and zeal I once had for God had waned. So, this past year, I decided that rekindling my love for Him would be one of the most important things I could do. Continue reading

Is God On Your Side?

When the Bible speaks of God being on someone’s side, it means that God is actively working for their good, offering His guidance, protection, and favor. Romans 8:31 states, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” This doesn’t mean that life will be free from trouble. David himself wrote Psalm 56 while fleeing from his enemies. Instead, it means that no matter the circumstances, God’s presence, power, and promises are with us. Continue reading

What is a Covenant to Seek the Lord?

In the pages of the Bible, we often encounter the word “covenant.” It’s a term rich with meaning, and at its core, it speaks of a deep, binding commitment between God and His people. One particular instance of this is found in 2 Chronicles 15:12, where it says, “They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their ancestors, with all their heart and soul.” This ancient declaration is more than just a historical footnote; it holds profound significance for us today.
